The role

This is an amazing opportunity to be part of a great team working in the commercial law space.

CCSG Legal is seeking for a talented individual to join our vibrant commercial litigation team, with strong technical knowledge of commercial debt recoveries. Get ready to dive into a range of engaging tasks and gain hands-on experience.

As an Associate Solicitor, you will support the legal team by handling volume claims, routine litigation, legal research, and client guidance on collections and credit management.

We work on a hybrid working model (3 days in the office and 2 days at home) for a full-time employee.

Responsibilities

Here’s an example of your day to day:

  • Timely actioning of files and keeping to-do-list up to date;
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents;
  • Preparing court documents and other associated documentation;
  • Preparing briefs to counsel;
  • Attending settlement conferences as and when required;
  • Conducting title searches, company searches, and bankruptcy searches;
  • Reviewing files on instructions from clients and ensuring accuracy;
  • Lodging and removing caveats and/or mortgages;
  • Facilitating payment arrangements as required;
  • Providing effective advice and guidance to clients on recovery of accounts;
  • Attending settlement conferences as and when required;
  • Seeking instructions from clients on files; and
  • Providing reports and updates to clients as required.

Requirements

  • 2 years post admission experience;
  • Strong understanding of commercial law principles;
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues;
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents e.g. letter of demand;
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient in the use of PEXA;
  • Experience in using justice link;
  • Proficient use of DebtCol software (desirable);
