Crawfords is looking for a HSE & Compliance Support Administrator to join our Gracemere team on a permanent part-time basis with the potential of a full-time position.

About the opportunity

Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating onsite training and driving compliance through the Safety Management System (SMS),
  • Providing driver training and support in the use of Teletrac Navman systems, including monitoring and conducting daily compliance checks relating to fatigue, speed, and driver compliance requirements,
  • Assisting in the implementation and ongoing compliance requirements aligned to the NHVR Master Code and Chain of Responsibility obligations,
  • Maintaining and updating employee certifications, competencies, training records, site audits, and ad-hoc compliance audits,
  • Carrying out truck and trailer audits, site inspections, and compliance inspections to ensure adherence to company policies, legislative requirements, and safety standards,
  • Assisting in the reporting, recording, and investigation of incidents, hazards, and non-conformances, including the implementation and monitoring of corrective actions,
  • Conducting random, for-cause, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policies and legislative requirements,
  • Reviewing and authorising driver timesheets and related payroll compliance documentation,
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting employees to develop and maintain a positive and proactive safety culture across the business,
  • Liaising with the Safety and HR Departments regarding compliance requirements, policy updates, and regulatory changes,
  • Providing first-class customer service to both internal and external stakeholders via phone and email communication, and
  • Undertaking other duties as required to support and maintain a high level of safety and regulatory compliance across the business.

 About you

  • Exposure to Safety Management System or Human Resource Information System (Safety Culture or Employment Hero preferred)
  • Knowledge of National Heavy Vehicle Law, BFM, DG regulations desirable but not essential
  • Background in Transport or Safety industry desirable
  • Have a great attitude towards new challenges & professional development
  • Have high attention to details and strong organisational skills

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (WHS) / Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a similar role with transferable skills relevant to the transport/freight industry.
  • Highly regarded previous experience working with Dangerous Goods.
  • Strong willingness to learn and drive safety and compliance aligned to the objectives of the business.
