The Cowboys Community Foundation is looking for a Community Programs Officer to join our team, delivering impactful programs across North Queensland that support young people, strengthen communities, and grow connection to the game.
About Us
The Cowboys Community Foundation is the charity arm of the Cowboys Group, delivering outcome-driven programs that remove barriers and create equitable access to education, wellbeing, and employment opportunities across North Queensland.
Our programs reach schools and communities across the region, using rugby league as a platform to engage, educate and inspire, supporting young people to build confidence, make informed choices, and pursue positive pathways.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, front-facing role where no two days look the same.
You’ll be out in schools, on the ground in communities, and involved in game participation and community engagement initiatives, delivering workshops, facilitating sessions, and creating positive, engaging experiences for participants.
You’ll play a key role in bringing our programs to life by building relationships, adapting to different environments, and ensuring every interaction reflects the values of the Cowboys and our Foundation.
You will:
- Deliver engaging workshops and group sessions to school-aged participants
- Coordinate and deliver community programs and activations across a range of settings
- Build strong relationships with schools, community organisations, and stakeholders
- Support game participation initiatives, including clinics and engagement activities
- Adapt your delivery style to connect with diverse audiences, including regional and remote communities
- Contribute to program reporting and continuous improvement

- Adaptable and solutions-focused, especially in dynamic or unfamiliar environments
- Organised and reliable, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Passionate about making a difference through community programs
Essential skills & experience
- Experience delivering workshops, presentations or group-based programs, particularly with
young people
- Experience working in community programs, education, sport or a related field
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders
- Experience contributing to program reporting, data collection or evaluation
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across North Queensland
