Disability Support Worker – Expression of Interest

Summary:

We are working on behalf of several clients within the Hunter Region and are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker’s to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidates will be responsible for helping clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Provide emotional support and companionship to clients
• Help clients with mobility and transportation needs
• Administer medication and monitor health conditions
• Assist with meal preparation and household tasks
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients
• Maintain accurate records and documentation

Qualifications:

• Certificate III in disability support or related field preferred
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Ability to handle challenging behaviors and situations
• Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy
