Disability Support Worker

Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable mature-aged female Disability Support Worker to assist a male participant living with tetraplegia in the Seaham area. This part-time role involves providing essential support during set daytime shifts, ensuring the participant’s comfort and well-being while promoting independence. Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities for the participant.
• Assist with manual handling and the use of a ceiling hoist as required.
• Support the participant with stoma care, ensuring comfort and hygiene.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment during all shifts.
• Communicate effectively with the participant and other team members.
• Document care provided and report any changes in the participant’s condition.

Qualifications:

• Experience with manual handling (essential).
• Experience using a ceiling hoist (preferable).
• Experience with stoma care (desirable).
• Compassionate and reliable approach to care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills.
