The Opportunity

Due to the continued growth of the Company, we have an exciting opportunity for a Parts Controller to join the team in our workshop located at Gap Ridge in Karratha.

Our busy workshop is home to a team of highly experienced tradespeople, fostering a great team culture and a supportive workplace environment. This role is critical to ensuring that our fleet of heavy machinery, plant, and vehicles is kept operational with timely access to parts and consumables. The Parts Controller will manage sourcing, ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships while supporting the efficiency of workshop operations.

Role Requirements:

  • Identify, source, and order parts, components, and consumables for heavy vehicles, plant, and machinery.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring critical parts are always available and tracked efficiently.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, timely deliveries, and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with the workshop team to provide the correct parts for servicing and repairs, including recommending alternatives when necessary.
  • Conduct regular stocktakes, audits, and monitor inventory usage to optimise efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Process purchase orders, invoices, and maintain accurate records of all orders, deliveries, and supplier interactions.
  • Ensure all parts meet manufacturer, safety, and environmental standards, including proper handling and disposal of obsolete items.
  • Monitor parts expenditure, work within budgets, and identify opportunities for cost savings through smarter purchasing.
  • Resolve supply discrepancies or delays promptly, managing supplier performance to prevent workshop interruptions.

Essential Requirements

  • Karratha Residents only
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar parts or inventory role within a workshop environment
  • High Risk Work Licence – Forklift
  • Current Driver’s Licence (HR preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle and plant components, consumables, and industry suppliers
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and parts databases
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and identify correct parts for various equipment models
  • Demonstrated initiative, discretion, and sound judgement
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced workshop
