Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and customer focused Project Engineer to join our amazing culture. The Role
You will be responsible for:
- The application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, project documentation (creation, updating, completion), of assigned projects
- In-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and contracts in order to determine and advise on overall project requirements
- Providing input, reviews and prepares shop drawings and wiring diagrams, based on project plans and specifications, showing location of devices, equipment, and wiring etc.
- Advising Project Manager and/or Sales regarding appropriate products needed for installation, identifying any issues on product lines on an ongoing basis to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Assisting project managers to prepare and/or reviews formal submittal booklets, containing schematics, and technical literature as necessary to support each contract.
- Prepares databases and job-related programming for computer-based systems.
To be successful in the role you will need to have:
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
- Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to electronic security systems, building automation systems.
- Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
- Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision.
- Frequent visits to jobsites are required. Overnight travel will be required.
- Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), AutoCAD; solid networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).
- Experience with BIM360 or Revizto viewing software is highly regarded.
Requirements:
Experience
- Minimum of five years of previous, relevant Security Industry is desired
- Experience in a Data Centre environment will be highly regarded
- Education, Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in electronics, Mechatronics or electrical engineering or equivalent, Product-specific certifications preferred; applicable industry-specific and/or IT certifications required.
- Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Valid security licence.
