About the Role

We are seeking a female Disability Support Worker in Springfield Lakes to support a young individual with complex medical and behavioural needs.

You’ll be providing support with:

Medical & Personal Care: Assisting with medication, hygiene, and personal care routines

Daily Living: Meal preparation and monitoring

Engagement & Independence: Encouraging autonomy and meaningful activities

Behavioural Support: Managing and de-escalating behaviours such as absconding, self-harm, verbal aggression, or non-compliance

Health Monitoring: Recording and reporting any changes in wellbeing

Client Diagnoses & Needs include:

Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

PTSD, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, GAD, Depression

Behavioural challenges including threats, intimidation, non-compliance, self-harm, and suicidal ideation

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Compassionate & Patient – able to build trust and provide respectful support

Calm & Resilient – confident in managing high-pressure situations and de-escalating behaviours

Experienced in Complex Care – ideally with exposure to conditions like Huntington’s Disease, schizophrenia, high falls risk, or incontinence care

Safety-Focused – able to supervise high-risk activities and keep clients safe

Strong Communicator – empathetic, clear, and consistent

What You’ll Need

✅ Cert III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, or Community Services

✅ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Employee Working with Children Check

✅ National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

✅ Valid Australian Driver’s License + comprehensively insured, reliable vehicle

✅ Current First Aid & CPR Certificates

✅ Proven experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours and medical needs
