Purpose of Position
The Junior Project Engineer supports the planning, delivery, and implementation of IT projects across the organisation. This role works closely with senior engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure technical tasks are completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with project goals. It’s an excellent role for someone early in their IT engineering career who is eager to build hands-on project delivery experience.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications.
- Coordinate with Senior Project Engineers or Project Leads to implement and execute various assigned project tasks based on scope, and project plan.
- Support the execution of project plans, including preparing documentation, tracking progress, and updating stakeholders.
- Highlight any tasks or issues which fall out of original scope, or may impact client expectations, project budget or deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with Account Executives, and Project teams to ensure all updates, changes, and any issues are delivered to the client.
- Work on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and rollouts under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of solutions before and after deployment.
- Configure hardware, software, network devices, and cloud services as required.
- Assist with integration work, new client onboardings, and environment setup.
- Monitor system performance and contribute to issue resolution during project implementation.
- Ensure project documentation, including project plans, technical specifications, and user manuals, are accurate and up to date.
- Ensure time entries, tasks, notes and relevant information are documented via our CRM / Ticketing system.
- Communicate, update and support the Helpdesk team when projects impact a change to a client’s environment, including how we support.
- Implement and deploy under supervision, or with support, projects related to the following:
o Networking (Access Points, Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Wi-Fi) configuration and deployments
o Microsoft 365 Migrations (SharePoint, Office 365, MS Teams Migrations)
o Security (Multifactor Authentication, VPN set ups, InTune/Entra Conditional Access Policies) (essential)

Technical Skills & Experience
- 2 Years experience in a customer facing role.
- Previous MSP related experience (highly desirable, not essential).
- A current driver’s license (essential).
- Foundational knowledge of IT systems such as Windows Server, networking, cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365/Azure).
- Basic understanding of Firewalls and Switching.
- Basic understanding of project delivery principles or exposure to project-based work.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
