Description

Enjoy collecting things, photography, or socialising? Want to make a difference in a person’s life?

I am a man in my late thirties looking for someone with significant work or life experience who can bring creative thinking to a role that will be both challenging and deeply rewarding.

My love of collecting things, coins, in particular, is important to me and I want to be supported to do this safely and productively. I am interested in veganism and enjoy eating and sometimes cooking vegan food. I have a great sense of humour and am a master of the one-liner. I am inquisitive and enjoy a wide range of music, YouTube videos, often about cars, and binge-watching TV series. I’m also really keen to find ways to spend time with dogs. I’d find it challenging to have a dog at home, but I love spending time with them.

The right candidate will assist me approximately 15 hours per week in pursuing my interests while being a role model for developing my social connections. I am keen to find a girlfriend and develop the social skills to make this happen. Workday tasks involve supporting me in managing my home and assisting me in having positive relationships in my community.

The successful applicant will be patient, have strong social and negotiation skills, and appreciate the complexity of human behaviour. They will also be organised, practical, reliable, motivating, and enthusiastic. This role involves working closely with my family, my support team leader, and the support team around me to deliver support in line with my vision for a good life.

Hours

The role will be approximately 15 hrs per week. At present, there are a variety of shifts to choose from. We will agree on a fixed fortnightly roster of shifts before the role starts. A commitment to the fixed shifts is extremely important. We aim not to move or swap shifts as it presents a wide variety of challenges.

The following are the currently available shifts, of which approximately 15 hrs will be allocated for this role.

  • Tuesday 4-7 pm
  • Tuesday 7-10 pm
  • Wednesday 4-7 pm
  • Wednesday 1-4 pm
  • Wednesday 7-10 pm

  • Friday 7:15-9:15 am
  • Friday 9:15-1 pm
  • Friday 7 pm-9:30 am with a passive 9 hr overnight
  • Saturday 9:30-1 pm fortnightly

Having some flexibility to cover shifts when other team members are sick or away is equally important. We also have regular team meetings and training opportunities throughout the year.

Remuneration and Training

Wages will be paid at level 2.1 Casual base rate (currently $43.23 per hour) and ongoing training will be provided.

Salary Packaging, which increases your tax-free threshold, is also available. Depending on your circumstances, this can increase your take-home pay without having to work more!

All applicants must have or be willing to obtain

  • Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • A current NDIS worker screening check
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Assist With Medication

Company Overview

For more than 30 years, the Community Living Project has worked in close partnership with families to build opportunities for a good life for their family member who is living with a disability. Community Living Project focuses on building inclusion. To us, this means that everyone matters and all people are welcomed, included and contributing to community life. We work with one person at a time to craft individualised support in a way that ensures each person (and their family) has as much control as possible over all aspects of their life. We believe all people should have the opportunity to pursue a unique lifestyle that is personally meaningful, relevant and typically intertwined in their community. We will not offer you a generic ‘program’, ‘vacancy’ or ‘place’. Instead, we will help you to craft your participation and inclusion in the community.
