Vehicle: Must be comfortable driving an automatic van
We are seeking two reliable, compassionate and confident Disability Support Workers to provide 2:1 support to a young person with complex support needs.
This role is for every second Friday and involves school pick-up, transport support, community access, and evening routine support.
Shift Details
Two staff members are required for the following shifts:

Support Worker 1: 1:15pm – 5:00pm

Support Worker 2: 1:15pm – 8:00pm
The usual Friday routine includes:
- Picking up the automatic van from Ridgewood
- Travelling for school pick-up
- Supporting transport from school
- Supporting the participant with afternoon and evening routines
About the Participant
The participant is a young person with complex disability support needs who requires consistent, calm and attentive support.
Support is provided on a 2:1 ratio, and the participant requires assistance with communication, mobility, personal care, safety supervision, emotional regulation, and daily routines.
The participant is mostly non-verbal and uses gestures, vocalisations, visual supports, and familiar communication strategies.
About the Role
Duties may include:
- Driving an automatic van
- School pick-up and transport support
- Providing 2:1 support alongside another staff member
- Supporting communication and emotional regulation
- Assisting with mobility and transfers
- Supporting personal care needs
- Encouraging engagement in preferred activities
- Following support plans and family/team guidance
- Maintaining participant dignity, privacy and safety at all times
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be confident and comfortable driving an automatic van
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be calm, patient and compassionate
- Be comfortable providing personal care
- Be confident supporting a young person with complex disability needs
- Be able to work collaboratively as part of a 2:1 support team
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check
- Hold current First Aid and CPR, or be willing to obtain
