CoAct is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Work, Health and Safety Administrator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining CoAct’s Work, Health and Safety Management System. You will help ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation while reinforcing consistent WHS practices across both CoAct’s internal operations. You will also work with our Service Partners, who are a network of not-for-profit organisations that collaborate with CoAct to deliver specialist community and employment services across Australia.
Exploring the Role
This role is suited to someone who works well autonomously, has strong attention to detail, and is confident providing practical WHS support across a geographically dispersed workforce.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining and updating WHS policies, procedures, and safety documentation across CoAct systems and Service Partner frameworks
- Supporting the reporting, management, and investigation of incidents and hazards in line with legislation and organisational requirements
- Monitoring and maintaining WHS registers, including site safety records and compliance documentation
- Providing timely WHS advice and practical support to CoAct staff and Service Partners
- Promoting safe work practices through regular safety communications and guidance materials
- Monitoring, reviewing, and communicating changes to WHS legislation to ensure continued compliance
- Assisting with emergency preparedness planning and coordination activities
- Supporting risk assessments, compliance activities, and internal WHS audits
- Engaging with internal teams and Service Partners to strengthen and maintain a positive safety culture
- Coordinating and facilitating WHS training and resources to support safe and consistent work practices
What You’ll Bring
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (essential), with demonstrated experience in a WHS-related role supporting remote or distributed teams.
- Proven experience in Employment Services and experience working within NDIS is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of WHS legislation and risk management principles, with the ability to apply them effectively in practice.
- Well-developed organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and foster a positive safety culture.
- Strong self-management skills and the ability to work autonomously and effectively in a remote environment.
- A collaborative approach, contributing positively to team outcomes while maintaining high safety standards.
Location: This is a work-from-home role, with occasional visits to our Stones Corner office and interstate travel as needed.
