Description

CoAct is seeking an experienced Information Security Officer to lead and oversee information security strategy, culture, and operational security practices. This role is accountable for protecting the organisation’s information assets and ensuring compliance with recognised security standards and accreditation frameworks.

The Information Security Officer works closely with technology, risk and internal business teams as well as CoAct’s Service Partner network to embed strong, risk-based security practices across CoAct and our Service Partner network.

About the role

  • Lead and maintain the organisation’s Information Security Strategy, ensuring it remains current, risk-based and aligned with business and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain ongoing compliance with ISO 27001 and Right Fit for Risk (RFFR), including coordination of audits and remediation of findings
  • Oversee the Information Security Management System and embed security controls across business operations
  • Identify, assess, and manage information security risks
  • Lead cyber security incident response, escalation, and post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement
  • Implement, monitor, and optimise security technologies and controls (including Microsoft security platforms, endpoint security, and Security Information and Event Management systems)
  • Lead, drive, and embed information security processes, frameworks, strategic initiatives and a culture of security awareness across CoAct
  • Act as a trusted security advisor to internal stakeholders, regulators, and Service Partners
  • Brisbane-based and will require periodic travel to support audit activities.

A little about you

  • 4+ years’ hands-on experience in an information security role
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 27001, ‘Right Fit for Risk’ security framework, and the Australian Government Information Security Manual requirements
  • Experience leading or managing security accreditation and audit programs
  • Background in a technical IT role with a solid understanding of infrastructure and systems
  • Strong documentation, process mapping, and change management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and deliver strong customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Hold a degree in IT or a technology-related field
