Cessnock Multipurpose Children’s Centre (CMCC) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to join our growing organisation. With a proud history dating back to 1963, CMCC has been supporting children and families across the Cessnock Local Government Area for over 60 years – and we’re just getting started.

With seven services currently operating and an eighth preschool opening mid 2026, now is an exciting time to join our team and help shape the future of early learning in our community.

CMCC is a not-for-profit, community based organisation and registered charity committed to providing inclusive, high‑quality education and care. Our services include:

✅ Two Long Day Care Centres

✅ One Preschool (with another opening soon!)

✅ Four Out of School Hours (OOSH) Services

You’ll be supported by a strong operational structure including Management, Educational Leaders, Catering, Transport & Logistics, Maintenance, and HR, allowing you to focus on what matters most – teaching and nurturing children.

 

👩‍🏫 About the Role

As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high quality educational programs and supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.

You will:

🌱 Design and implement rich, play based learning programs aligned with the EYLF and NQF

🤝 Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues

📝 Document and assess children’s learning and development using an online platform

👥 Collaborate closely with educators and leaders to ensure consistency and quality practice

🛟 Maintain health, safety, and wellbeing standards to create a secure and nurturing environment

 

✅ What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Requirements:

✔ Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ECT)

✔ Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)

✔ First Aid Certificate – HLTAID012 (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable Skills & Attributes:

✔ Strong knowledge of the EYLF and NQF

✔ Excellent communication and leadership skills

✔ Passion for inclusive, child centred practice

✔ Well organised with strong time management skills

✔ Creative, reflective, and committed to continuous improvement
