Description

Communications & Content Officer

12-month contract | Full-time or part-time | Hybrid (Melbourne CBD + WFH)

Are you a strong writer who loves creating content that actually lands with audiences – and using data to make it better?

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare is seeking a Communications & Content Officer to help shape and deliver engaging digital communications across our website, social media and email channels.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys writing every day, experimenting with formats, and using analytics to continuously improve engagement and reach – all while contributing to work that makes a real difference for children, young people and families.

About the role

As Communications & Content Coordinator, you will:

  • Write and publish news, updates and explainers for our website
  • Plan, create and schedule content across social media and email newsletters
  • Help grow and engage our digital audiences
  • Use analytics, reporting and testing (including A/B testing) to improve performance
  • Work closely with teams across the organisation to surface stories, impact and opportunities

You’ll be supported by an experienced Communications team and receive full training for sector-specific campaigns such as advocacy, budget and election cycles.

About you

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are a confident, adaptable writer who can switch between web, social and email copy
  • Enjoy hands-on content creation, including short-form video, carousels and graphics
  • Are curious about what works and why, and comfortable using data to guide decisions
  • Have experience managing or contributing to digital channels in a fast-paced environment
  • Like collaborating with different teams and translating complex information into plain English
  • Experience with tools such as Mailchimp, Canva, social media scheduling platforms, and analytics (Meta, LinkedIn, GA4) is highly regarded.
