We are seeking an experienced and motivated Dry Fire Electrical Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the installation, servicing, testing, and maintenance of dry fire electrical systems, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, Building Codes, and client requirements. The position plays a vital role in safeguarding people, assets, and infrastructure through reliable fire detection and protection systems.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, maintain, and repair dry fire electrical systems including:
Fire detection & alarm systems
Emergency warning & intercom systems (EWIS)
Occupant warning systems (OWS)
Emergency and exit lighting
Conduct inspections and testing in line with AS 1851, AS 1670, and other relevant standards.
Accurately diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and carry out corrective actions.
Complete electronic service reports, compliance documentation, and test records.
Work collaboratively with project managers, electricians, and subcontractors on new installations.
Ensure all works comply with WHS policies, electrical safety regulations, and company procedures.
Provide clear communication with clients regarding works performed, required upgrades, and compliance issues.
Participate in after-hours call-outs as required.
Skills & Qualifications
Current NSW Electrical Licence (or equivalent in other states).
Proven experience with dry fire electrical systems installation and servicing.
Knowledge of Australian Standards (AS 1851, AS 1670 series, NCC/BCA).
Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and technical skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical/fire system drawings and schematics.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
White Card (Construction Induction).
Current driver’s licence.
(Preferred) FPAS accreditation or willingness to obtain.
