LUDO Educator

Casual positions available located in Hobart Tasmania

CatholicCare Tasmania is the primary social services agency of the Catholic Church across Tasmania. We have 60 years’ experience delivering a wide range of services and support to improve individual, family and community wellbeing. Our services are available and open to all with a particular focus on families, young people and children.

We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and qualified Educator to work in our Ludo program.

Ludo is CatholicCare’s play and inquiry-based learning and care service for children aged 3-5 years delivered in partnership with Catholic Education Tasmania. Children are given opportunities to explore new interests, problem solve and think creatively in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. Ludo is intended to support children to successfully transition to school through developing a strong sense of belonging and is co-located with the Kindergarten with experienced staff from CatholicCare and Catholic Education. Our programs are delivered in purpose-built indoor and outdoor play spaces, with the designs being carefully considered to meet the needs of our most important customers – Our Children!

You will need to have:

  • Certificate III in Children’s Services or actively working towards completion of Certificate III in Children’s services or alternatively, this employee will possess, in the opinion of the employer, sufficient knowledge or experience to perform the duties at this level.
  • Current HLTAID012, and preparedness to maintain/renew as required.
  • A valid Working with Vulnerable People registration.
  • Have a passion for the Early Childhood Sector and are an enthusiastic and supportive Educator
  • Enthusiasm and passion for working with children

Selection Criteria

1. Commitment to the mission and values of CatholicCare Tasmania as informed by the Archbishop’s Charter; and a broad understanding of the operation of the Catholic

Church in Tasmania.

2. Prior experience working with children or within a children’s service, preferably within 3-5 year-old age range.

3. Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, 2011, Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, 2011 and the Licensing Standards for Centre

Based Care, Class 5.

4. Able to meet staffing ratio requirements for the child care sector, current age requirement minimum 18 years of age.
