The Child Inclusive Practitioner & Educator provides an opportunity for children to talk independently, providing feedback and recommendations to parents if their children give consent, during family dispute resolution services as part of the Family Relationship Centre. The role is responsible for providing a range of education and community awareness development activities to support community members increase their skills and knowledge.

Key tasks of this role include:

• Intake, information, support and referral services;

• Child centred sessions with children

• Community education / group work services;

• Program Promotion and Networking.

This position will provide child inclusive services within legal and ethical obligations under the Family Law Act 1975 and the Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners) Regulations 2025.

Qualifications and Experience

• An appropriate qualification in a relevant discipline such as Social Work, Psychology, Law, Social or Behavioural Sciences;

• Experience in child inclusive practices and the ability to articulate the family dispute resolution process;

• The ability to meet ongoing accreditation requirements;

• Current C class driver’s license (QLD);

Core Competencies

• Substantial level of ability to deliver child inclusive practises in accordance with Attorney General’s Department guidelines and the organisational Quality Management System policies and procedure.

• Substantial knowledge and application of relevant theoretical models and frameworks (such as FDR, conflict resolution, child development, child safety, domestic and family violence, and child inclusive mediation) to ensure FDR process appropriate to client needs.

• High level of communication skills, including active listening, clear articulation of ideas and constructive feedback.

• Demonstrated ability to represent and promote an organisation such as CatholicCare in the wider community by engaging in and developing strong networks and partnerships.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse team members, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.

Other Requirements

• The ability for regular travel within the area of service delivery and occasionally outside the area of service delivery.
