ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven House Coordinator to provide leadership within our residential care services in Katherine. This role suits a strong people leader who can guide, support, and develop a team of Therapeutic Care Workers while maintaining safe, consistent, and high-quality therapeutic care for children and young people with complex needs.
As House Coordinator, you will have oversight of day-to-day operations within the house, including compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and care plans. You will play a key role in fostering a positive team culture, maintaining professional standards, and embedding trauma-informed and therapeutic frameworks into everyday practice.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direction, coordination and support to Therapeutic Care Workers
- Active supervision of Therapeutic Care Workers
- Induction and Orientation of New Staff
- Development of schedule and care plan for young people, with Therapeutic Specialist and Hub manager, and ensure implementation
- Lead and contribute to a positive team culture through regular team and clinical meetings
- Ensure houses are maintained in accordance with the Statutory Standards of Care
- Administration, report writing, and compliance responsibilities
- Contribute to a positive team culture

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, Social Science or other relevant field
- Understanding and empathy for vulnerable families, children and young people with complex needs who have suffered childhood trauma and neglect
- Ability to support staff working in difficult conditions, including vicarious trauma-related incidents
- Demonstrated understanding of the demands of Statutory Out of Home Care
- High-level interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership skills including conflict resolution and effective communication and experience in staff supervision, coaching and supporting staff working in difficult conditions
- Demonstrated ability to monitor therapeutic plans for clients
- Demonstrated ability to relate to children and young people who have suffered early childhood trauma and neglect
- Intermediate computer literacy
Desired
- Budget management/contract management experience
- Significant rostering experience
- On-the-ground youth work experience
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, Social Science or other relevant field
