ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a great opportunity for Disability Support Workers to join our team in Perth (Midland) as a permanent part-time employee. Multiple shifts are available for the right candidate.
Disability Support Workers play a crucial role in delivering scheduled NDIS supports that focus on enhancing individuals with disabilities’ independent living, social, and recreational skills. We are seeking experienced, passionate, and knowledgeable professionals who are dedicated to supporting people with disabilities and whose values align with ours.
In this position, you will provide person-centred support to an NDIS participant in line with their individual goals, preferences, and support plan. The role involves assisting the participant in building independence, participating in the community, and engaging in meaningful daily activities.
Participant-Specific Requirements:
Due to the participant’s individual support needs and personal preferences, the successful applicant will be required to meet the following inherent requirements of the role:

Male support worker, in accordance with the participant’s preference and to ensure dignity and comfort during personal support activities.

Strong verbal English communication skills, as clear and effective communication is essential to support the participant’s engagement, understanding, and safety.
These requirements are considered reasonable and necessary to meet the participant’s support needs and to deliver safe and effective person-centred support. Where participant-specific requirements apply, these are assessed as genuine occupational requirements necessary for the effective delivery of services in accordance with applicable legislation, including the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 and the Racial Discrimination Act 1975

Key Responsibilities:
- Emergency respite work, including short stay motel accommodation
- To provide high-quality, person-centred support to NDIS participants in a home/residential or recreational setting
- Provide support to people with disabilities, which help to build independence and capacity and increase their participation in activities, tasks, and outings in the community
- Administration, report writing and compliance responsibilities
- Contribute to a positive work culture
- Compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience working with people with a disability
- Demonstrated understanding of person-centred care
- Demonstrated ability in working with people with physical and mental disabilities and promoting capacity building through support work
- Demonstrated ability to participate in the development of support plans and to complete necessary documentation, including risk assessments
- Demonstrated positive communication, time management and teamwork skills
Desired
- Qualification in Disability, Community Services, or Mental Health;
- Experience supporting participants with challenging behaviours

Our programs include Therapeutic Intensive Residential Care, Intensive Family Preservation, Therapeutic Foster Care, Restoration, and other associated care types, we are a registered NDIS provider and operate a social enterprise Maintenance and repairs business.
