To get there, we need someone who thinks differently about how retail scales — not just how sales happen. This is a newly created role, built for a rare kind of operator: someone who understands the full retail ecosystem, can diagnose what’s working and what isn’t, and knows how to build the structures, rhythms and capabilities that turn good performance into great performance — consistently.

📈 The Role

As Retail GrowthLead for NSW, you will own the commercial performance of our largest state operation. You will work across our retail sites, our customer journey, our people and our processes to identify growth levers and unlock them — systematically and at pace.

This is not a traditional grwoth role. It’s a seat at the table for someone who combines commercial instinct with analytical rigour, and who can zoom out to see the full picture while still holding the detail.

🎯 What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and drive NSW retail performance across volume, margin, conversion and customer experience metrics
  • Analyse end-to-end sales workflows to identify friction points, conversion gaps and revenue leakage — and lead the initiatives to close them
  • Build and maintain a high-performance retail team culture, partnering closely with site leaders and frontline consultants to lift capability and consistency
  • Develop and execute state-level growth strategies aligned to the FY27 AOP, including channel mix, inventory strategy and customer acquisition
  • Lead the cadence of commercial review across NSW — weekly, monthly and quarterly — translating data into clear actions and accountability
  • Work closely with national functions including Marketing, Product, Finance and People to ensure NSW has what it needs to perform
  • Identify and test new approaches to retail conversion, customer experience and operational throughput, scaling what works and cutting what doesn’t
  • Represent NSW in national leadership forums and contribute to broader Cars24 Australia strategy

  • Proven track record in senior commercial, retail strategy or growth leadership roles — automotive experience highly valued, but sharp operators from adjacent retail, tech or consumer industries will be considered
  • Strong analytical capability — you’re comfortable in a spreadsheet, confident in a boardroom, and credible on the floor
  • Experience leading distributed or multi-site retail teams, with a genuine ability to develop people and lift performance
  • A strategic mindset that translates into executable plans — you don’t just identify problems, you build the playbook to fix them
  • High commercial literacy — you understand unit economics, margin drivers and the levers that move a retail P&L
  • Ability to operate with autonomy in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills — you can align a room and hold a team accountable without losing either
