We are seeking a highly capable, detail-oriented professional who is as passionate about culture and values as they are about precision, organisation, and impact.

About the role

This position plays a critical role in supporting effective board governance, organisational risk management, and executive operations. You will be a trusted partner to the CEO and Deputy CEO, ensuring seamless coordination, high quality governance practices, and informed decision making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end Board and Committee processes, including preparation of agendas and papers, accurate minute taking, and tracking of actions, with flexibility to work outside normal office hours
  • Manage governance requirements, ensuring compliance with board obligations, training, and reporting standards
  • Maintain and monitor the organisational risk register, including mitigation strategies and emerging risks
  • Provide high-level executive support, including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and document preparation
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with board members, executives, regulators, and key stakeholders

Key Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives and boards in a complex environment, ideally within the disability, not-for-profit, or community services sector
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail, particularly in documentation, reporting, and minute taking
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgement, with a genuine alignment to Cara’s values and culture
