Summary:

As a Community Support Worker on the Sunshine Coast, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in our community. Your primary focus will be to provide compassionate support to older people and those living with disabilities, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they need in both community and home settings. This permanent, full-time position is essential for fostering independence and promoting well-being among our clients, making a significant impact in their lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to clients in their homes and community settings.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Document client progress and report any changes in their condition to the appropriate personnel.
  • Promote client independence and well-being through engaging activities and social interaction.
  • Adhere to all safety and quality care standards, ensuring a safe environment for clients.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Certificate IV in Community Services
  • Diploma in Community Services
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team
  • Experience supporting older people and seniors in community and home settings
  • Experience working with people living with disability and complex needs
  • Competency in using smartphones and mobile devices with internet access
  • Commitment to quality care and a safety-first approach
  • Understanding of professional boundaries, privacy, and confidentiality
