Community Health Research Officer

Projects and Planning • Belconnen, Australian Capital Territory 2617, Australia • Full-time

Description

About the role

The Community Health Research Officer plays a key role in supporting public health initiatives across the organisation by leading the analysis and interpretation of community health data. As a part of the needs assessment process, the role actively identifies trends from a wide range of public data sources to uncover key health and service needs to support quality improvement initiatives within the ACT primary care sector. The role will also collaborate closely with government and community stakeholders involved in health services planning, delivery and advocacy, including with CHN’s commissioned service providers.

About the team

Reporting to Senior Manager Projects and Planning, the Community Health Research Officer will be part of Projects and Planning Team that provides key advice to inform the organisation’s reporting, planning and evaluation processes. This advice is used to support ACT service planning and commissioning processes, as well as program evaluation to integrate health care, improve health equity and achieve better health outcomes for Canberrans. The Projects and Planning Team works collaboratively with our internal Heath System Integration, Primary Care Integration and Commissioned Services teams to enhance data processes that support continuous quality improvement and operational efficiency.

See yourself in our team

You are a dynamic health or community professional with demonstrated experience in research and evaluation of health system performance. You will spend time working with the like-minded data analysts to examine trends in health data and factors that influence health outcomes, including demographic, health status, risk factors for health, disease and social determinants of health. You will thrive in using your data visualisation skills to transform complex analysed data into clear and visually engaging insights to support informed decision-making at all levels of the organisation. Your experience in supporting effective engagement and maintaining positive relationships with community stakeholders will see you contribute to CHN’s evidence-based primary health initiatives that seek to improve health outcomes of the ACT community.

As a part of working with an innovative organisation, your work within the Projects and Planning Team will facilitate ongoing data analysis and contribute to broader projects and initiatives, ensuring that our data processes align with CHN frameworks and strategic goals.
