Full time | Supported Employment Services Award, Grade 6

$33.52/hour plus superannuation, with access to savings on everyday expenses (up to $15,900), meal and entertainment card ($2500), and car leasing through pre-tax salary deductions

cape group (cape) is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee providing services to people with a disability and is a Registered NDIS Provider.

Nadrasca joined with Brite in April 2025 to form cape group, a newly formed brand resulting from the merger of the two NDIS registered providers with a combined 120 years in operation across the eastern and northern suburbs.

Together, we provide a range of services for people with disability, including home and living supports, social and community participation activities, youth employment assistance, supported employment, and NDIS support coordination.

The Position

The Support Worker – Supervisor, leads a production team to ensure food processing, manufacturing, and packing activities meet production targets, quality standards, and hygiene requirements. The role maintains a safe and healthy work environment, supports team members with and without disability to achieve individual and team goals, contributes to quality accreditation, and provides additional individual support to team members with higher support needs, while demonstrating integrity, composure, and commitment to cape’s social purpose

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management:

• Plan daily production activities with the Production Manager or Coordinator.

• Set up and supervise production lines efficiently.

• Ensure job specifications meet requirements and finished products meet quality standards.

• Address issues affecting productivity or customer satisfaction promptly.

• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.

2. Team Supervision:

• Communicate job steps and provide supervision to team members.

• Deliver on-the-job training and support.

• Ensure team members meet production goals and quality standards.

• Maintain attendance records and organize timesheets.

3. Quality Assurance:

• Comply with quality systems, regulations, and policies.

• Record data related to job hours and task completion.

• Oversee HACCP compliance and maintain food safety checklists.

• Implement and maintain cleaning programs aligned with food safety standards.

4. Administrative Duties:

• Maintain accurate production reports.

• Monitor and record support quality for team members.

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate IV in Community Services (Disability Work) or similar relevant qualification (preferred).

• Experience in similar role (preferred)

• Qualifications and experience in the disability sector will be highly regarded.

• Support work experience with a production or pick‑packer background is highly desirable.

Skills and Attributes

• Comprehensive experience, skills, and knowledge in a food production industry, that are brought together through a team approach to production.

• Demonstrated ability to facilitate through group processes and the involvement of individuals in the attainment of business, employment and training objectives and outcomes.

• Proven ability to meet production outcomes, ensuring all customers’ orders are delivered in full and on time, every time.

• Drive continuous improvement of business/production processes.

• Ability to work with the Employment Supports & Outcomes Manager to implement, maintain and operate a variety of elements of the Australian Vocational Training System.

• Be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience within the food production industry and its products, processes, and procedures. Ability to adhere to tight timeframes, the maintenance of quality assurance standards and needing to meet the customer’s requirements and exceed their expectations.

• Ability to communicate and work with other Production Supervisors, Production Manager, Senior Operations Manager, and the Chief Executive Officer to practically implement and attain strategic corporate objectives and outcomes and the strategic objectives and outcomes of cape Group.

• Sound knowledge and practical application of occupational health & safety standards and processes that will ensure a safe working environment for all team members at cape.

• Extensive and demonstrable experience in the operation and maintenance of packing facility requirements related to relevant industrial specifications and occupational health & safety standards and legislation.

• Applicants must be currently residing in Australia.

• Shift hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
