Canteen Assisstant

We are seeking reliable, honest, hard-working individuals to work in our fast-paced High School Canteens.  Our casual positions offer a unique opportunity for individuals seeking a flexible work schedule, with the potential to work between 3 and 5 days per week and up to 7 hours per shift. Previous canteen experience would be helpful, and cooking skills would provide better opportunities. The ability to work at our other locations can provide additional hours and shifts. Flexibility is vital, as rosters can change, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment. Casual rates are paid under the Fast Food Industry Award. For the safety and well-being of our students and the smooth operation of our canteens, the following certificates are required. – A current, valid Working With Children Card – Food Safe Handling/Allergy Awareness Certificates (can be completed online). – Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (through the Education Dept.). Expectations and possible requirements of potential employees: – Food preparation – Basic cooking skills (not essential but would be beneficial) – Counter service – EFTPOS & cash handling – Cleaning & washing up – Packing away deliveries – Replenishing stock in the kitchen and service areas – Display excellent standards in customer service – Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions efficiently  – High levels of personal hygiene – Good, consistent punctuality – Great communication skills We plan to start the new employees at the end of January 2026 and would prefer they be flexible with available days, as we would like to offer a minimum of 3 days a week.
