The opportunity

We have exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager. Reporting directly to the Corporate Services Director, you will be responsible for providing expert financial management, with a focus on preparation and monitoring of financial results, forecast and budgeting, day-to-day accounting practices and capacity building of the finance & administration team.

Based in Subiaco, this is a full-time position. This position is available for an immediate commencement.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations and the monitoring of monthly financial results and forecasting

• Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting is provided to managers

• Coordinate the maintenance and analysis of general ledger. Preparation of annual reports in alignment with current accounting standards

• In consultation with the Corporate Services Director coordinate, prepare, review and monitor the annual budget and quarterly forecasting

• Ensure the maintenance of effective accounting systems (MS Business Central), procedures, policies and internal controls

• Ensure a high level of financial management support and administration services are provided to internal clients

• Preparation of statutory requirements particularly BAS and Superannuation reporting

• Liaise with external providers in relation to Audit, Banking and Investment activities of the council

• Manage and lead a small team of 4 staff

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or related field with at least 5+ years’ experience in managing staff in a similar field

• Current CPA/CA membership

• Proven hands on leader with ability to multitask and prioritise workload

• Demonstrated analytical skills and experience resolving complex problems

• Demonstrated experience in financial and management accounting in a NFP is preferable

• Experience in using MS Business Central would be an advantage

• Experience in Salesforce integration would be an advantage

• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
