The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality and Safeguarding – Compliance Officer to join our Quality and Safeguarding team. This role supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance, risk management, safeguarding, and continuous improvement systems across the organisation. Working closely with the Head of Quality and Safeguarding, you will help ensure organisational practices remain compliant, effective, and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support organisational risk and compliance frameworks
- Maintain compliance schedules, registers, and reporting systems
- Conduct internal compliance checks and audits
- Assist with policy, framework, and procedure reviews
- Monitor audit findings and support continuous improvement activities
- Prepare reports and compliance documentation
- Provide confidential administrative support, including support for investigations and sensitive data management
- Work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to strengthen compliance and quality outcomes
About You
You will bring:
- Experience in compliance, risk management, safeguarding, governance, or a related field
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build positive stakeholder relationships
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance/risk systems
Essential Requirements
- Approximately two years’ experience in compliance, risk, or related roles preferably in the not-for-profit sector
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check or willingness to obtain
- Full Australian working rights
Desirable
- Experience within the not-for-profit or community services sector
- Knowledge of regulatory and governance frameworks
- Experience writing reports and compliance documentation
- Relevant qualification in business, law, social work, or related discipline
