About the opportunity

The Support Coordinator plays a vital role in helping NDIS participants interpret their NDIS plans, establish supports and build the capacity to manage their own supports over time.

This is a permanent, on-site role that will also require participant visits as part of delivering personalised support.

Key objectives include:

  • Implementing participant plans and building capacity to manage and direct supports;
  • Exploring community connections and alternative support options;
  • Strengthening informal support networks;
  • Advising participants on maximising the value for money from their supports;
  • Accessing and using the myplace portal and/or NDIS app;
  • Maintaining effective communication and relationships with the NDIA.

Support Coordinators may encounter complex challenges, including balancing diverse participant needs, providing emotional support, managing multiple priorities on the go, and adapting to evolving NDIS policies. Strong organisation, compassion and resilience are essential to excel in this role.

Who we are looking for!

The attributes we are looking for in a Support Coordinator include:

  • a commitment to supporting the rights of people with disabilities;
  • excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
  • strong observation, assessment, and cultural competence;
  • effective time management and multitasking abilities;
  • patience, empathy, adaptability, and flexibility.

Successful candidates will also have:

  • a Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field or significant NDIS case management experience;
  • experience with disability or mental health support, including complex needs.
  • knowledge of NDIS, relevant legislation, and plan interpretation.
  • a current NDIS Worker Screening Check;
  • a current Working With Children Check;
  • access to a reliable insured vehicle and a current Drivers Licence;
  • a minimum of two (but preferably three) COVID-19 vaccination doses; and
  • a current annual Influenza vaccination.

Our team members enjoy:

  • Working in a supportive environment in a position that offers variety and flexible working hours;
  • Access to our Thrive Care Group benefits including Flare (discounts platform), EAP, Healthy Body & Mind Hub and discounted fitness membership;
  • Access to learning and development to support you in building your career in Disability Services;
