Supported Playgroup Facilitator

From $38.73 per hour plus statutory superannuation
Buloke Shire Council is seeking a passionate and community-focused Supported Playgroup Facilitator
to deliver engaging early years programs that support children and families to thrive. This rewarding
role focuses on improving outcomes for children through connection, education and community
collaboration.
About the role
In this rewarding position, you will facilitate Supported Playgroups and deliver the “Smalltalk”
program, helping parents build the skills and confidence to support their child’s learning, development and wellbeing. You’ll work collaboratively with Maternal and Child Health services and other stakeholders to identify and engage families, particularly those who may be experiencing vulnerability or disadvantage.
This role offers a great balance of program delivery, community engagement and professional
collaboration, with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day.
In this role you will:
Deliver Supported Playgroups and the “Smalltalk” initiative to families across the Shire
Facilitate evidence-based programs that build parents’ confidence in supporting their child’s
development
Work closely with Maternal and Child Health services and key stakeholders to identify and
support target cohorts
Develop strong partnerships with community organisations to enhance program delivery
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports in line with Department of Education and
Training requirements
Support broader Community Development programs and provide assistance across Council
teams as required
Promote a positive and professional image of Council through high-quality customer service.
To be successful in this role you will:
Hold a qualification in Early Years, Community Development or a related field, or have relevant
community-based experience
Be willing to undertake “Smalltalk” training
Demonstrate experience delivering excellent customer service and working with families and
children
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and engage
with diverse cohorts
Have the ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines and produce high-quality work
Possess sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to maintain accurate
records and reports
Have research and analytical skills to support program delivery and reporting
Hold a current Driver Licence and Working with Children Check
