Gardener

About the Role

Buckland Aged Care is seeking an energetic, hardworking and reliable Gardener to join our Maintenance team. This is a full-time Monday to Friday position (7:30am – 4:30pm, with an early finish on Fridays) working across the grounds of our retirement village.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake general grounds and garden maintenance including lawn mowing, whipper snipping, pruning, weeding and general upkeep
• Ensure all duties are completed safely in accordance with Work Health and Safety requirements
• Work cooperatively with other members of the garden and maintenance team
• Assist the broader Maintenance team when required
• Report to the Maintenance Manager and follow directions as needed

The ideal candidate will

• Have a keen interest in gardening and working outdoors
• Have experience using gardening tools and equipment (or willingness to learn)
• Be physically fit and capable of manual labour
• Deliver quality work to a high standard within set timeframes
• Have a strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
• Have knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
• Hold a current Australian driver’s licence
• Have a positive “can-do” attitude and work well as part of a team

Pre-Employment Requirements

To be considered for employment, candidates must be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Clearance and undertake pre-employment medical assessments.
