This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Architect with strong experience in the precinct (incl multi-res and retail) sector to make a real impact by leading major projects in South-East Queensland. You’ll work across diverse development types, scales, and all project stages, within a highly collaborative and design-focused environment. Partner with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional design outcomes, maintain the financial health of projects, ensure quality documentation, and foster team collaboration and communication.
This role offers the chance to lead cross-functional design disciplines, develop innovative technical solutions, and contribute to projects that define the future of our built environment—always guided by Buchan’s commitment to design integrity, sustainability, and creating places with meaning.
What You’ll Bring
- Australian architectural registration, preferably in Queensland.
- 7+ years’ experience in the local market (QLD/Australia).
- Proven track record in precincts and/or retail sector within Qld.
- Experience with Development applications
- In-depth knowledge of BCA, Australian Standards, and Council requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit
- Understanding of Sketchup, Enscape and Adobe Suite
- Strong understanding of project development and construction processes.
- A passion for design excellence and enthusiasm to learn and grow within a collaborative team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to inspire collaboration between clients and project teams as a trusted point of contact.
- Leadership skills to motivate and guide teams toward successful outcomes.
