Senior Programming Manager
About the Role
Broadsheet Media is looking for a strategic and highly creative Senior Programming Manager to lead the evolution and national expansion of the Broadsheet Access program.
Once a standalone membership, Broadsheet Access is now an integral component of our wider subscription proposition and a key differentiator in the market. In this pivotal role, you won’t just be managing a program, you will be activating the pages of Broadsheet into real life experiences.
You will lead the vision for our audience’s experience, leveraging Broadsheet’s commercial and editorial relationships to deliver exceptional value and unforgettable, culturally relevant experiences to our subscribers.
This role involves high level partner negotiation, the implementation of new product suites, and the creation of robust operational workflows to deliver market leading benefits. This is also a highly autonomous role. Reporting to the Director of Reader Revenue, who is based in London, the successful candidate will have strong local support but will need to be comfortable working across time zones and capable of independently managing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
-
Strategic National Expansion: Lead the growth of the Access program into new markets, ensuring a consistent, premium experience across all Australian cities, while supporting future launches in global markets.
-
Program Curation: Drive the curation and development of the Access program, delivering exclusive, member-only events and money-can’t-buy subscriber benefits that readers won’t find anywhere else.
-
High-Value Partnership Management: Identify, pitch, and secure long-term strategic partners, negotiating complex benefits and ensuring strong brand alignment and high perceived value.
-
Operational Excellence: Design and manage the end-to-end implementation of new product suites, establishing standardised briefing processes and cross departmental workflows.
-
Cross-Business Integration: Drive seamless collaboration with the Broadsheet Studio, Editorial, Audience, Commercial, and CRM teams to ensure Access remains a core pillar of the subscription proposition and to optimise performance throughout the funnel.
-
Performance Leadership: Oversee program health by collaborating cross functionally to report on weekly and monthly performance against acquisition, churn, and engagement targets, translating data into actionable programming strategies.
About You
You are a strategic leader who combines a systems led mindset with an intuitive sense of taste and a deep seated appreciation for city culture. You don’t just follow trends, you anticipate them.
-
Cultural & Market Fluency: You have a nuanced understanding of Australia’s cultural landscape and a solid network of contacts across food, arts, and media to curate programming that reflects the true cultural depth of our cities.
-
Commercial Intuition: You are a high-level negotiator who can blend hard data insights with on the ground expertise to select the right partners and experiences.
-
Agile Problem Solver: You can transform complex ideas into streamlined, national operations that drive both subscriber acquisition and long term retention.
