Role Purpose:

You’ll take responsibility for the end-to-end operation of the Surface Treatment Facility, from tendering through to production, quality control, and delivery. As the final authority on PQMR (Paint Quality Management Representative), you’ll ensure every project meets the highest standards—while mentoring and upskilling your team.

You’ll support the broader organisational vision—balancing time, budget, quality, safety, and environmental standards—while driving continuous improvement and a proactive culture.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Surface Treatment (STF) – 50%

  • Collaborate with the team to deliver optimal timeframe, cost, and quality outcomes
  • Streamline processes to reduce waste and lift productivity
  • Ensure all STF equipment is functional and well-maintained
  • Lead facility upgrades and ongoing improvements
  • Develop a strong succession pipeline and upskill team members

Paint Quality Management Representative (PQMR) – 50%

  • Integrate specification requirements into technical documentation (ITPs, TDS, QA)
  • Final QA check and authority – validate but delegate routine testing
  • Build processes that capture IP (e.g. TDS) and embed them in training
  • Ensure all QA documentation, batch reports, and environmental checks are completed and returned accurately
  • Exercise stop/start authority based on quality compliance
  • Personally oversee in-progress and final checks for quality adherence

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • 10+ years’ industry experience, with at least 7 years in a leadership/management role
  • Proven experience in protective coatings and surface treatment
  • Strong understanding of PQMR, QA, and safety procedures
  • Highly organised and driven by systems, structure, and improvement

Desirable:

  • NACE Level 2 Coating Inspector / AMPP CIP Level 2 (or higher)
  • PCCP Certification knowledge
  • High Risk Licence (Forklift – LF)
  • Elevated Work Platform (Yellow Card – Scissor Lift)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
