About the opportunity
Join Australia’s newest uranium producer! We’re looking for an experienced Mine Geologist to join our Wellfields and Geology team at the Honeymoon mine site in South Australia.
Reporting to the Wellfields Technical Lead, you’ll be responsible for the evaluation of our mineral resources at Honeymoon. Your expertise will contribute to the sustainable development of wellfield operations, ensuring that geological data is accurately interpreted and utilised to optimise resource extraction. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of our Honeymoon project and supporting the overall success of our operations in Australia.
The role will be FIFO from Adelaide or Port Augusta, direct to site on an 8:6 roster. We will also consider DIDO from Broken Hill.
The role is currently day shift only.
Key responsibilities & activities include:
- Drill rig and wireline logging management
- Field staff management
- Logging of geological samples
- Collation and interpretation of downhole geophysical logs
- Development of 3D ore and geological models in Micromine
- Planning and management of leaching well installation
- Production reconciliation
- Data management within Geobank
- Map creation in QGIS
- XRF samples
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology/Geological Science
- Previous or 3-5 years mining experience, preferably in Uranium or ISR mining
- You will have the flexibility to work on a roster and travel to Honeymoon mine site
- You will be self-motivated and self-driven
- The ability to work independently whilst working with a small team
- Possess excellent written and oral communication
- Experience with sedimentary basins would be advantageous
