About the Opportunity
We’re seeking Casual Process Operators to join our team at the Honeymoon Uranium Mine in South Australia for a short‑term assignment of 8–10 weeks.
You’ll work a rotating FIFO/DIDO roster (8 days on / 6 days off, 7 nights on / 7 days off), flying from Adelaide or Port Augusta, or driving from Broken Hill. Chartered flights, meals, and accommodation are fully provided, so you can focus on the job.
Reporting to the Processing Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in operating and monitoring the mine’s wellfields and process plant—ensuring safe, efficient production and strict environmental compliance.
What You’ll Be Doing
Perform filter bag changes including:
- Isolating equipment and completing lock‑out/tag‑out procedures
- Removing, inspecting, and installing filter bags and support components
- Handling filter media and materials safely and correctly
- Checking seals, housings, and pressure integrity prior to restart
- Disposing of used filter bags in line with environmental and site requirements
Operate and monitor wellfields including:
- Starting, stopping, and adjusting wellfield infrastructure in line with production plans
- Monitoring flows, pressures, and solution chemistry to ensure wellfield performance is within target parameters
- Conducting routine inspections of wells, pipework, pumps, and headers to identify leaks, blockages, or faults
- Collecting and recording operational data, readings, and samples as required
- Responding to alarms, abnormal conditions, and production issues, escalating where necessary
- Supporting well maintenance and change‑out activities under direction of the supervisor
- Ensure all activities meet safety and environmental standards
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping
- Follow SOPs, including start‑up and shutdown procedures
What You’ll Need
- General labouring or processing experience
- A current Australian driver’s licence (manual vehicle required
- A positive attitude with ability to work independently
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
- Be able to work 95% of the time outdoors and in all weather conditions
- A strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical with a good level of physical fitness and National Police Check
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
