The Wholesale Sales Director is the commercial lead for the Australian Health & Wellness channel. This is a player-coach position responsible for converting high-level strategy into a tactical roadmap, including executing store-level initiatives, workflows, and implementing a high-performance team culture. The role carries end-to-end responsibility for revenue generation. The role bridges sales and operations, ensuring every customer interaction is intentional, professional, and leveraged to drive loyalty and incremental growth. This position is as much about doing as it is leading, requiring a natural salesperson who lives and breathes numbers, relationship-building, high velocity execution, and possesses the commercial grit to ensure budgets are met without compromise.
What is this role all about?
Strategic Roadmap & Execution
- Convert the 5-year strategy into an actionable annual roadmap with clear milestones for store-level execution.
- Identify and lead pitches to targeted banner groups and high-value independent accounts.
- Own the optimisation of product-to-store assortment to defend and grow Boody’s space in store, aligned to our channel strategy.
- Serve as the primary internal advocate for the ANZ wholesale channel, partnering with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Product teams to ensure channel needs are aligned and accounted for within the broader business strategy.
- Represent Boody at Tradeshows, Conferences and Banner events.
Commercial Management
- Hold full accountability for the H&W channel P&L and budget
- Implement, monitor, and enforce KPIs and incentive programs for the representative network.
- Ensure pricing, ranging and promotional strategies are commercially sound, on-brand, and maximise both volume and margin.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance department on annual budgeting and forecasting accuracy to ensure sustainable and profitable channel growth.
- Act as the primary knowledge lead for the NZ distributor, supporting with the ‘Australian Playbook’ (promotions, CRM insights, and data) to ensure their success.
Team & Systems Leadership
- Elevate the wholesale team’s capabilities, focusing on advanced account management and premium customer experience.
- Ensure that customer data is being utilised effectively to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
- Drive the utilisation of systems and tools across the channel (e.g. Hubspot, Netsuite, NuOrder) and team that automate routine tasks and enhance the customer experience (i.e. CRM workflows, exception reporting, AI).
- Monitor store health at scale, including range, shelf presence, sell-through, and stock management, ensuring action is taken when performance falls short.
- Coach the team to ensure every customer touchpoint (pre-sale, sale, and post-sale) is treated as an opportunity for growth, fostering a collaborative, results-driven team culture by working alongside and supporting the team day-to-day.
We’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role within wholesale, B2B or multi-channel retail
- Experience leading and developing sales teams across multiple account types and structures.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience owning forecasts, budgets and revenue targets
- Experience managing and overseeing key accounts and commercial relationships
- Comfortable operating in a scaling business with evolving structures and priorities
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence across functions
- Clear communicator with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
