About the role

It’s an exciting time to join one of the leading non-bank lenders in Australia as we embark on ambitious growth plans across the country. As our NSW State Sales Manager, you will lead the development and execution of our sales strategy while guiding and motivating a team of Business Development Managers. You will play a key role in coaching and mentoring your team, providing ongoing support and direction to foster strong engagement, high performance, and a positive, growth-focused culture.

In this role, you will build and maintain strategic relationships with aggregators and brokers, ensuring strong market connectivity and partnership success. You will be accountable for delivering against revenue targets, with your leadership and strategic insight driving market expansion and sustained sales growth.

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Deliver individual and team sales targets and growth KPIs, contributing directly to company revenue.
  • Develop and execute state-based sales strategies in partnership with the Chief Commercial Officer.
  • Grow and deepen the broker network by increasing active broker engagement and market penetration.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through strategic partnerships, market analysis, and competitive insights.
  • Review customer and broker portfolios to identify growth opportunities and implement targeted strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of annual sales plans, including budgeting and performance tracking.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Business Development Managers to achieve strong sales results and consistent performance.
  • Foster a high-performing, growth-focused culture through mentoring, engagement, and ongoing development.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, performance management, and capability uplift.
  • Provide technical product expertise and scenario guidance to strengthen team capability and improve conversion outcomes.

Stakeholder Management, Innovation & Governance

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, aggregators, and key industry stakeholders to enhance brand presence.
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to drive innovation, develop new solutions, and deliver impactful campaigns.
  • Leverage market intelligence and industry trends to inform strategy, product development, and business growth.
  • Ensure accurate CRM management to support pipeline visibility and quality client data.
  • Uphold compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and risk frameworks, including credit and risk management principles.
  • Monitor sales performance, expenses, and reporting to ensure alignment with business objectives and risk appetite.

About You

You are a results-driven, self-reliant sales leader with a proven ability to perform in fast-paced environments. Combining strong mortgage expertise with sharp commercial acumen, you understand what drives conversion and settlements. You’re passionate about building high-performing teams, using your coaching and mentoring skills to inspire growth and elevate capability. With a strong business development mindset, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and a confident, tech-savvy approach, you build lasting relationships, thrive under pressure, and consistently deliver high-impact results in a changing market.

Your experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, economics, law, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial services with deep knowledge of the mortgage market.
  • Previous state or regional sales management experience.
  • Proven experience in the preparation and implementation of budget forecast sales and budget plans.
  • Previous participation in designing organisational sales strategies.
  • Demonstrated sales ability including outstanding negotiation skills, persuasive ability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact at a strategic level.
