The Opportunity

This national role leads and strengthens Big River Group’s regulated sustainable sourcing programs across Illegal Logging compliance, FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody certification and Modern Slavery due diligence.

Working within the Import Supply Chain function, you will drive audit readiness, supplier governance and scalable compliance systems across multiple sites. This is a hands-on role with genuine authority to escalate risk and influence purchasing decisions where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Illegal Logging due diligence processes for regulated imports
  • Lead and expand FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody certification nationally
  • Co-ordinate annual Modern Slavery supplier risk assessments and action plans
  • Maintain audit readiness and structured compliance reporting
  • Develop practical tools and systems to improve efficiency and reduce duplication
  • Engage suppliers and internal stakeholders to strengthen governance frameworks

About You

You will bring:

  • Experience in compliance, governance, sustainability, procurement or supply chain
  • Strong written communication and reporting capability
  • Confidence engaging with suppliers and operational teams
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities independently

Experience within timber, building products, import supply chains or FSC/PEFC certification will be highly regarded.
