About the role:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Warehouse Assistant to join our manufacturing headquarters in Yandina. This role is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling, preparation, and dispatch of furniture items, supporting production schedules while adhering to strict safety protocols. The position predominantly involves operating a tow tug with a trailer to transport furniture across the site, including loading and unloading goods, completing detailed pre-start checks,
and following all traffic management procedures.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 2:06pm, with an immediate start available. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, reliable, and experienced, with the flexibility to support increased workloads during the peak season from September to February.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a tow tug with trailer to safely transport furniture across the site, including loading and unloading
- Complete detailed pre-start checks and report any defects to your supervisor
- Follow all site traffic management procedures, including use of horn at corners and busy areas
- Accurately pick and prepare furniture for dispatch in line with delivery schedules
- Safely lift, load, and unload furniture as part of daily operations
- Complete and verify dispatch documentation and record inventory movements
- Identify and report any damages, defects, or discrepancies
- Perform all duties in line with WHS regulations, quality standards, and company policies, including wearing required PPE
- Assist with general duties including assembly, cleaning, and equipment maintenance as required
Required skills:
- Current Drivers licence
- Forklift license an advantageous but not a requirement
- Experience of working in warehousing or dispatch.
- Ability and confidence to drive a Tow Tug with a Trailer
- Ability to effectively interact with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
- Commitment to workplace safety and familiarity with WSH regulations.
- Physically fit, willing, and able to lift.
