Description

About Better Health Company

At Better Health Company, we’re all about making better health easier for everyone. We cut through the noise with trusted, evidence-based programs and services that help people make lasting, healthy changes. With over 15 years of experience in health promotion, we design and deliver practical, real-world solutions through government-funded programs, professional training, and accessible resources for individuals and families.

We’re passionate about reaching the people who need it most, including those from low socio-economic backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities. At our core, we’re a team of passionate go-getters who believe in what we do and we’re always looking for new ways to make an even bigger impact.

About your new role

We’re looking for a creative and highly organised Social Media Officer to support the growth and delivery of Better Health Company’s social media presence. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you’ll contribute to social strategy discussions and content planning across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, while primarily focusing on monthly execution. This role will play a key part in scaling our current and future channels and enabling us to be more agile and responsive with content across platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who loves ideating and crafting compelling content, and who enjoys turning ideas into posts that genuinely connect with people. Your work will support our overarching goals of brand awareness, engagement, and growth.

You’ll also collaborate with our in-house designer and broader team to ensure content is visually engaging, respectful, and aligned with our evidence-based, non-judgmental approach to health and wellbeing.

This is a part-time, 6-month contract role (2-3 days per week on-site in our Melbourne office) with the opportunity to extend.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ideating monthly content informed by departmental strategy sessions, content calendars, and ad hoc opportunities
  • Creating engaging content that translates evidence-based information into clear, relatable social content that aligns with Better Health Company’s brand essence, values, and tone of voice.
  • Conducting basic design work to template and produce ready-for-sharing imagery
  • Scheduling organic social media content across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Collaborating as required with our in-house designer to brief and adapt creative assets where more complex design needs are required (e.g. animated content)
  • Assuring that all content adheres to consistent quality assurance requirements
  • Maintaining a level of mindfulness and respect when communicating to or about the diverse communities we work with

What makes you a great fit

You love keeping up with social media (not just trends, but what makes content resonate). You’re passionate about cutting through diet fads and misinformation, and enjoy turning evidence‑based health information into content that connects with real people.

You’re also comfortable switching gears to speak to professional audiences. You enjoy promoting our work to corporate organisations, health professionals, government and community partners, especially on LinkedIn, helping them understand our impact and how we support healthier communities.

You work well with clear directions, but are comfortable taking initiative and bringing new and fun ideas to the table. You have a genuine interest in health and wellbeing, align with Better Health Company’s mission and values, and are motivated by using social media to create meaningful, positive impact.

Why you’ll love working with us

  • Professional development and training opportunities to grow your skills within a growing organisation
  • A supportive, purpose-driven team that values creativity, collaboration, and impact
  • Opportunities to contribute to promotion of exciting new services as we grow as a business

Sounds like your dream job? Apply now!

We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and supported.
