About the role

We are seeking a Precedents / Document Automation Developer to support the development and rollout of document automation across the firm, with a focus on the XpressDox platform.

This role will be instrumental in modernising the firm’s legal precedents and templates by converting them into intelligent, automated workflows. Working closely with legal teams, Knowledge Management, and IT, you will help transform legal content into structured, reusable, and scalable solutions that support efficiency and consistency across the business.

Experience with XpressDox is not required. We’re looking for someone with strong analytical and technical aptitude who is comfortable learning new technologies and applying them in a practical, business-focused environment.

About the team

The role will report to our Development Team Lead and will work closely with our collaborative and supportive Knowledge Management team during development and rollout.

About you

Our ideal candidate possesses:

  • 2–5 years’ experience in one or more of document automation/template development, business systems or application support, and/or legal technology or precedents development.
  • Strong problem solving mindset and the ability to work with rules, conditions and structure data
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Word (advanced formatting, styles and templates)
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality and consistency
  • Ability to learn new platforms quickly and independently
  • Experience with document automation tools (desirable)
  • Experience in legal or professional services environments (desirable)
