About the role
We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our high performing Insurance Team. This is a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract role offering flexibility to work from home for those who may need it, within a friendly, and supportive environment.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive and proactive support to fee earners, playing a vital role in the team’s success. The position suits an organised, efficient, detailed and friendly personality, who works well in a team and is willing to roll up their sleeves and pitch in. This position is best suited to a career Legal Support Professional.

About the team
As one of the most highly regarded defendant Insurance practices in Sydney, we have an enviable list of insurer, employer and government clients, who seek our legal assistance in all aspects of workers compensation.
Key responsibilities
With no day the same, your daily tasks may include:
- Diary and file management.
- Administrative support to the partners and fee earners in the practice group.
- Opening and closing files.
- Preparing documents and correspondence.
- Inputting and maintaining data in our software application (Aderant Expert).
- Monthly billing including drafting and amending invoices.
- Uploading advices, actioning client instructions, and coordinating Independent Medical Examinations.
- Liaising with the courts, the Personal Injury Commission, and other ad hoc administrative tasks.
- Assisting other secretaries in the team with training and overflow.
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant within a law firm environment.
- Knowledge of Insurance and/or Defendant Workers Compensation practice is highly desirable, though not strictly required.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in utilising Microsoft products like Outlook, with the ability to quickly grasp new applications.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- A desire to learn and develop new skills.
- A can do attitude
- Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
