The Commercial Maintenance and Construction Plumber is responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing services across commercial properties, including installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of plumbing systems. The role ensures compliance with safety regulations, Australian Standards, and client requirements while contributing to efficient project delivery and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance DutiesDiagnose and repair plumbing faults in commercial buildings (e.g., leaks, blockages, fixtures).Conduct routine preventative maintenance on plumbing systems, valves, pumps, and hot water systems.Perform testing and inspection of backflow prevention devices and thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs).Respond to urgent service calls and provide efficient fault-finding solutions.Construction DutiesInstall and commission plumbing systems in new builds, refurbishments, and fit-outs.Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and plans.Install pipework, fixtures, sanitary systems, drainage, and fire hydrant services.Collaborate with builders, subcontractors, and other trades to achieve project deadlines.General ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with plumbing regulations, building codes, and occupational health and safety standards.Complete required documentation (service reports, compliance certificates, timesheets).Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in safe working order.Uphold high standards of customer service and represent the company professionally on client sites.Participate in ongoing training and skills development.Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential:Certificate III in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification).Current WA Plumber’s Licence & Gas fitting Licence Knowledge of AS/NZS plumbing standards and compliance requirements.Experience in both commercial maintenance and construction plumbing.Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and technical skills.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.White Card (Construction Induction).Current manual driver’s licence.Desirable:Experience with fire service systems, pumps, and advanced mechanical services.Backflow prevention and TMV accreditation.Experience working within occupied commercial environments (schools, hospitals, offices).First Aid/CPR certification.
