About the Role
The Louise’s Appellation Restaurant is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver an outstanding culinary experience in one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions.
Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will play a key role in day-to-day kitchen operations, contributing to a menu that celebrates the finest regional produce the Barossa has to offer. This is a hands-on leadership role for a cook who takes pride in quality, consistency and mentoring those around them.
Accommodation is available for the successful candidate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Executive Chef in leading and developing the kitchen team
- Maintaining the highest standards of food preparation, presentation and consistency
- Assisting with menu development and seasonal produce sourcing
- Overseeing kitchen operations during service in the Executive Chef’s absence
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Contributing to stock management, ordering and waste minimisation
- Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff
About You
You are a passionate and skilled Sous Chef with a genuine love of produce-driven cooking and a desire to grow within a luxury lodge environment.
You will ideally have:
- Solid experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a fine dining or premium restaurant setting
- Strong knife skills and a thorough understanding of classical and contemporary techniques
- The ability to lead and motivate a team under pressure
- A collaborative and positive approach to kitchen culture
- Knowledge of or interest in regional and seasonal produce
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
- Current Australian working rights
