Description

The Roles

We’re looking for a motivated, curious problem-solver to join our team in Tonsley, stepping into a dynamic Solutions Engineering role that blends technical design, commercial thinking, and real-world impact. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate looking to gain hands-on industry experience, or for an electrical or estimating professional seeking to broaden their skills into solution design and technical proposals.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping innovative energy and automation solutions—supporting projects from early concept through to delivery. You’ll work on diverse, high-value opportunities, helping translate customer needs into smart, practical solutions that drive both performance and sustainability outcomes.

This is more than just estimating. It’s an opportunity to build your capability across solution design, technical proposals, and energy systems, while working alongside experienced engineers, solution architects, and commercial leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end proposal & quote development process, including the preparation, costing, written communication of scope and submission of high-quality proposals in consultation with the Principal Solutions Architect and Account Managers.
  • Translate customer requirements into preliminary technical designs aligned with AZZO’s standard solution architectures, under the guidance of senior engineers or solution architects.
  • Contribute to high-level system designs, including conceptual layouts, equipment selection, and solution configurations to support proposal development.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to validate assumptions, refine scope, and ensure alignment between technical design, delivery capability, and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word and Power Point); exposure to CRM systems and engineering design tools (e.g. AutoCAD or similar) is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience (through internships, university projects, or early career roles) in engineering and electrical design, technical problem solving, or solution development.
  • Basic understanding of engineering design processes, standards, and documentation practices relevant to solution development.

Desirable

  • Foundational understanding of electrical, control systems, or energy management principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practical solution contexts.
  • Trade Qualification related to electrical, control and communication systems.
