The Roles
We are currently seeking a Level 1 Control Systems Engineer to join our team and support the delivery of advanced industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA, EMPS) that enable safe, reliable, and efficient energy operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to build strong technical foundations in industrial automation. You will support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems while working alongside experienced engineers. The role offers hands-on involvement in project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on learning and development.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team delivering impactful projects in a dynamic and evolving energy environment.
Location & Travel
This is a Remote or Hybrid position. Expected travel up to 30-40% for site visits, to meet role requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and designing control system solutions for defined scopes.
- Contribute to the review of design documentation (e.g. FDS, control narratives, I/O
lists).
- Support commissioning activities for defined systems or project scopes.
- Support project delivery across all phases, including design, implementation, testing, and handover.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful integration with operational systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety requirements, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or related discipline.
- Understanding of PLC/SCADA/DCS systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs.
- Exposure to programming (any language; PLC exposure advantageous).
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
