Building Designer

At AVIA, building design isn’t about drawing for the sake of it. It’s about making smart decisions that carry through to site. We’re looking for a Building Designer to join our Product Design team and shape residential designs that are clear, compliant and ready to be built at scale.

This role suits someone who understands how homes get built and enjoys designing within real world constraints – cost, construction, standards and repeatability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and refining master plans for single and double storey dwellings
• Designing and refining custom terrace homes, duplexes and townhouse projects
• Reviewing and adapting plans and facades for buildability, compliance and cost-efficiency
• Spotting issues fast and improving designs without compromising quality
• Collaborating with drafting, estimating, and construction teams
• Working at pace and cranking out quality designs

What you bring

• A sharp design eye and a genuine love for great residential design
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in project or volume building
• A relevant qualification in Building Design or Architectural Drafting
• Strong Revit skills with a love for clean, buildable plans
• Strong grasp of building codes, planning rules and compliance standards
• Self-driven, adaptable and up for a bit of banter
