Accountant

Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our dynamic team in Springfield, Queensland. This permanent, full-time position is ideal for a mid-senior level professional who is passionate about delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to the financial health of our organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for various projects.
• Monitor and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
