ABOUT THE ROLE – Sandhurst, VIC | Full-time| Ongoing

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the training organisation that is part of the growing education department at the PGA of Australia.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lead Trainer and Assessor to support the delivery and coordination of the suite of qualifications delivered by the PGA Institute.

Reporting to the PGA Institute Senior Manager, the Lead Trainer and Assessor is responsible for the delivery, assessment and coordination of training programs delivered by the PGA Institute. The role plays a hands-on part in the facilitation of training and assessment activities, while also supporting the effective coordination, management and continuous improvement of PGA Institute education programs.

Your impact will include:

Delivery of Training Programs:

  • Facilitation of training delivery including on campus sessions and virtual workshops across the qualifications on scope of the RTO.
  • Provide clear instruction, guidance, and support to learners throughout the training and program across several courses on the RTO scope of delivery.
  • Collect and respond to learner feedback to continuously improve training delivery.
  • Assessment of Training Programs:
  • Assess learner submissions against established competency frameworks, learning outcomes, and assessment criteria.
  • Coordinate with trainers, assessors, and subject matter experts to clarify assessment requirements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Track and record assessment outcomes in learning management systems (LMS)

Compliance of the RTO:

  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of ASQA / NVR Standards and CRICOS, ESOS Act plus other relevant government regulations relating to RTO’s
  • Maintain all PGA training resources in a manner compliant with ASQA / NVR Standards and AQTF including Training and Assessment Strategies for all qualifications on the RTO Scope
  • Participate in Moderation, Validation and compliance related reporting activities
  • Education Program Coordination:
  • Develop training and assessment resources for all applicable courses including those housed on the PGA’s e-learning platform
  • Develop and update training delivery schedules for applicable courses
  • Conduct general program administration including support to the RTO Manager and maintaining records and responding to queries and reviewing student progress
  • Assist in the development of new qualifications in-line with PGA Institute Policies and Procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Consult with Industry to ensure learning is responsive to industry requirements and the needs of the future workforce

You’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in the VET sector, particular focus as a coordinator of training programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements relating to CRICOS and ASQA.
  • Advanced level of computer knowledge of Microsoft office computer programs.
  • Strong customer service and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Student Record Keeping Systems
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders and maintain a positive learning environment for students
  • Proven experience in development, implementation and monitoring of best practice principles for customer service focus and delivery.
  • Team driven mentality within an overall group performance environment.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements relating to CRICOS, National Code, ESOS Act and ASQA and the Standards for RTO’s
